Design Project: Microsoft Teams Asynchronous Training

To address a need at the university I work for, and to also meet requirements for my final project of my EDU 623: Designing Learning Environments course, I developed an asynchronous training for Goodwin University faculty covering the basics of the Microsoft Teams platform. I am proud to announce that the training is effectively completed and in the pilot stages! The training was created using the ADDIE model of instructional design. 

Additionally, I utilized the backwards design method of instruction to develop the entire course -- starting first with my terminal goal; followed by course outcome; followed by assessments which were then aligned on a curriculum map. As a firm believer in Universal Design for Learning (UDL), I implemented UDL principles in all of the units; representing the content in multiple mediums. As the training is asynchronous, I utilized the learner-to-content framework. Modes of instruction that are typically utilized for the learner-to-content framework include lecture and multimedia demonstrations, programmed instruction and tutorials, and readings. Also, the learner-to-content framework utilizes the highlighting of information in instructional materials to focus learner attention on key points.
